“A
growing body of evidence indicates two
things your mom always told you –
eat a good breakfast and drink your
milk – could be a powerful combination
to help achieve and maintain a healthy
weight. Several studies have indicated
that drinking 24 oz or 3 glasses of
low fat or fat-free milk per day may
help people to lose more weight than
by cutting calories alone” Claudia
Claudia is serving as a spokesperson
for the “Got Milk”
and “Wake Up to Weight Loss”
campaigns for the growing Hispanic market
in the US. She has given numerous media
interviews on the great benefits of
drinking milk, and has developed “Latino”
healthy milk recipes for consumers
that can be found at www.2424leche.com

The
Canned Food Alliance’s Consumer
Awareness Program is a comprehensive
communications effort using a combination
of public relations, spokesperson publicity
and trade shows to educate consumers,
primarily women ages 25-34 with children
about the nutritional value and modern-day
convenience of canned food products.

has been commissioning research studies
to test the nutritional values (vitamins,
minerals, fiber, etc) of canned food
alone as well versus its fresh and frozen
counterparts when prepared in a recipe.
Claudia
joined the spokesperson program for
the Latino market in May 2006. She participates
in media outreach to communicate the
wide variety of canned food options
and their health benefits.

Whitestone,
ny (march 29, 2006) – there
is one school of thought which says
there is nothing more important than
good health. then there is another
school – vitaminschool –
that says having a cool $100,000 for
college tuition isn’t so bad
either. students across the country
have a shot at both health and wealth
as part of this 12-city, public service
competition – aimed at educating
high school students about easy steps
they can take to improve their diets
and overall health – beginning
april 25. nearly half of the children
in the united states will be overweight
by 2010, up from what recent studies
say is about one third, according
to a report published by the international
journal of pediatric obesity. vitaminschool
is an opportunity for students to
demonstrate how they would go about
improving their diets in a way that
works for them, if given the tools
to do it.

EGG BOARD
(www.enc-online.org) |
Celebrating
25 years of nutrition research and education
1979 - 2004 |
|
With
all the media attention on cholesterol,
consumers often lose sight of the
fact that eggs are a nutrient rich,
affordable contributor to a healthy
diet. Not only do eggs contain the
highest quality source of protein
available but they also contain
almost every essential vitamin and
mineral needed by humans.
Claudia M. González
is part of the Egg Ambassador Program.
She educates the media and consumers
about the health benefits of eggs
and dispels myths about dietary
cholesterol as well as egg nutrition
misinformation; such as the revised
AHA recommendations regarding egg
consumption which no longer restrict
the number of egg yolks that can
be eaten per week, and corresponding
research showing that there is little
association between dietary cholesterol
intake and increased risk for heart
disease, as well as no significant
association between egg consumption
and coronary heart disease risk. |

RICE FEDERATION (www.usarice.com) |

Claudia
has served as an expert at the USA
Rice Federation Scientific Advisory
Panel Meetings in 2004 and 2005.
She is a frequent guest at National
and local TV and radio shows to
talk about the carb-restricted diets.
Claudia
educates Hispanic consumers about
the nutritional benefits of rice.
As a complex carbohydrate, rice
is the foundation for healthier
eating. White or brown… it
doesn’t matter; eating a variety
of foods in moderation is the key
to healthy eating. Low carbohydrates
diets are hard to follow in the
long run. Brown rice and enriched
white rice are examples of “good”
carbs as are fortified cereals and
other grains. In fact, the populations
in countries that eat a rice-based
diet are thinner people in countries
where protein and fat are the center
of the plate. |
